The Art of Being Alive

I believe that real freedom comes from the kind of presence that nourishes our souls.

Watercolor painting of a person mountain biking on a dirt trail, surrounded by a misty landscape and distant hills.

Sometimes we’re fully aware, and it’s still suffocating – living in spaces of trauma, obligation, or mere survival. Sometimes it’s a job that slowly wears us down – the kind that leaves little space for who we really are. There can be presence there too—but not the feeds us.

I didn’t leave the noise of a workforce that drained me to recreate it in another form. I’m learning, slowly, to build a life where painting isn’t the reward for busywork—it’s the reason for it. Where a bike ride on a sunny day matters as much as checking off the to-do list. Where intimacy, stillness, and joy are not luxuries, but essential parts of the rhythm.

My work comes from a place that nourishes the body and senses – a space where we can feel the world in beautiful, grounding ways:

The breath you didn’t know you were holding.

The rush of motion—dancing, biking, moving freely through space.

Or the stillness of a forest, a rock, a shadow, holding you in its silence.

My message is unfolding, gradually taking clearer form. With each painting, each quiet moment spent in nature, each ride through the woods, it becomes more visible. Whether it’s a misty mountainside or a skateboarder soaring through the air, every piece pulses with the same energetic hum: a call for connection, the freedom to live authentically, and a reminder to embrace life fully—in our bodies, in the present moment, in the world. To be truly alive.
